PIPEDA

The TimedRight Privacy Policy has been developed to comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). PIPEDA sets out rules for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information.

Summary of the Ten Principles of PIPEDA

Accountability

Organizations are accountable for the personal information they collect, use, retain and disclose in the course of their commercial activities.

Identifying Purposes

Organizations are to explain the purposes for which the information is being used at the time of collection and can only be used for those purposes.

Consent

Organizations must obtain an Individual’s express or implied consent when they collect, use, or disclose the individual’s personal information.

Limiting Collection

The collection of personal information must be limited to only the amount and type that is reasonably necessary for the identified purposes.

Limiting Use

Disclosure and Retention: personal information must be used for only the identified purposes, and must not be disclosed to third parties unless the Individual consents to the alternative use or disclosure.

Accuracy

Organizations are required to keep personal information in accurate and up-to-date active files.

Safeguards

Organizations are to use physical, organizational, and technological safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access or disclosure.

Openness

Organizations must inform their clients and train their employees about their privacy policies and procedures.

Individual Access

An individual has a right to access personal information held by an organization and to challenge its accuracy if need be.

Provide Recourse

Organizations are to inform clients and employees of how to bring a request for access, or complaint, to the Chief Privacy Officer, and respond promptly to a request or complaint by the individual.

Information Collected

TimedRight may collect Personal Information and Non-Personal Information about our website users.

Personal Information

Personal Information is personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, and email address when you choose to provide it to us when registering with our website or subscribing to receive news or other information from TimedRight.

Non-Personal Information

Business contact information such as the name, title, business address, email address or telephone number of a business or professional person or an employee of an organization is considered Non-Personal Information.

Non-Personal information is anonymous information such as your IP Address, the domain you may have used to access TimedRight.com, the type and version of browser or operating system you may be using, and the website you may have arrived from or the website you visit next. Our web servers may automatically collect Non-Personal Information provided through your browser or stored on a Cookie or through a Web Beacon when you choose to visit timedright.com or www.timedright.com.

TimedRight may collect the following information:

Registration

In order to become a TimedRight member, you must first create and account. You will be required to provide contact information such as name and email, and will be required to choose a password. You may be requested to also provide other information such as: present occupation title, work organization and work organization office location.

Profile Information

Once a user, you may provide additional information in the user Profile component of the website, including a brief summary of your professional information, current occupation, professional experiences, and networking objectives. Providing additional information beyond what is required at registration is entirely optional, but enables you to better connect with other users and to better use the TimedRight system to communicate, share information, and interact with your contacts.

Information about your Contacts

In order to invite others to connect with you directly in TimedRight, you will search within the service to find if they are already a TimedRight member. If they are found in the TimedRight service as a member, you can request that they connect with you. If they are not found in the service, you will need to enter their names and email addresses with the Invite New Member capability to connect. This information will be used by TimedRight to send your invitation including a message (that you edit.) The names and email addresses of people that you invite will be used only to send your invitation and reminders.

Information that you enter or upload about your contacts will be covered by the same terms of this privacy policy as cover your own personally identifiable information.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

Personal Information may be used by us to provide services or information via email that is requested or subscribed to by the user.

We will not sell or rent your Personal Information to anyone at anytime.

We will only disclose your Personal Information to third parties:

-   who work on our behalf as our agents, suppliers or service providers solely to enable us to provide you with requested services or fulfill authorized transactions. These third parties act under strict contractual controls, requiring them to maintain the confidentiality of all such Personal Information and to use the information solely to provide TimedRight services.

-   as required by law, including by order of any court, institution or body with jurisdiction or authority to compel the production of information.

Links to Other Websites

The TimedRight website may contain links to other websites and services. We endeavor to link only to sites and services that share our privacy standards. However, we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other websites or companies.

Cookies & Log Files

Like most web sites, TimedRight uses cookies and web log files to monitor site usage and measure user traffic. We use this formation to maintain and improve site performance. A cookie is a tiny data file which resides on your computer which allows TimedRight to recognize you as a user when you return to our site using the same computer and web browser. If you prefer, you can reset your browser either to notify you when you have received a cookie, or to refuse to accept cookies. If your browser settings do not allow cookies, some elements of our website will not function correctly. Like the information you enter at registration or in your Profile, cookie and log file data is used to customize your experience on the web site. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies.

A cookie is a small data file containing a unique identification number that is transferred through your browser from a web site to your computer. The cookie identifies your browser and will not let a website know any personal information about you, such as your name and address. Since cookies are only data files, they cannot run on your computer, search your computer for other information or transmit any information to anyone.

One type of cookie, known as a “persistent” cookie, is set once you’ve logged in to your TimedRight account. The next time you visit the TimedRight web site, the persistent cookie will allow us to recognize you as an existing user so you will not need to log in before using the service. In order to access or change any of your private information, however, you must log in securely again with your password even if your computer contains your persistent cookie. Additionally, if you log out of the TimedRight site you will need to re-enter your password the next time you visit in order to log in to your account. Another type of cookie, called a “session” cookie, is used to identify a particular visit to the TimedRight site. Session cookies expire after a short time or when you close your web browser.

Due to the communications standards on the Internet, when you visit the TimedRight web site we automatically receive the URL of the site from which you came and the site to which you are going when you leave TimedRight. We also receive the Internet protocol (IP) address of your computer (or the proxy server you use to access the World Wide Web), your computer operating system and type of web browser you are using, as well as the name of your ISP. This information is used to analyze overall trends to help us improve the TimedRight service. The linkage between your IP address and your personally identifiable information is never shared with third-parties without your permission or except when required by law.

Web Beacons

We may allow other companies, called ad networks, to serve advertisements to TimedRight users. Ad networks include third party ad servers, ad agencies, ad technology vendors and research firms. TimedRight may “target” some ads to users that fit a certain general profile – for example, “product managers in Texas.” TimedRight does NOT use personally identifiable information to target ads.

We may allow other companies, called ad networks, to serve advertisements to TimedRight users.

To deliver these ads properly, TimedRight may include a file, called a web beacon, from these ad networks within pages served by TimedRight so the networks may provide anonymized, aggregated auditing, research and reporting for advertisers as well as to target ads to you while you visit other websites.

Because your web browser must request these advertisements and web beacons from the ad network’s servers, these companies can view, edit or set their own cookies, just as if you had requested a web page from their site.

These general targets may also be used by ad networks to display targeted ads on other websites as a substitute for random, irrelevant ads. You will never see additional ads as a result of being a TimedRight user and TimedRight never provides personally identifiable information to any advertiser nor any third party.

Children (persons under the age of 18)

We ask that minors (under the age of 18) do not submit any personal information to us or use the service.

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us. TimedRight and its third party agents take technical, contractual, administrative, and physical security steps to protect Personal Information that you provide to us.

We require that all employees sign acknowledgement of our Site Member Personal Information Policy that describes how we control the TimedRight membership data, and that they read this Privacy Policy.

If you provide credit card information to us for any service, we work to help protect the security of your credit card information during transmission by using industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology.

Our SSL Certificate provider is GeoTrust.

Changes to Privacy Policy

TimedRight may change its Privacy Policy from time to time. We encourage you to check this Privacy Policy regularly for updates or changes. If you continue to use the TimedRight service after notice of changes have been sent to you or published on our site, you hereby provide your consent to the changed practices.

If you wish to opt-out of receiving promotional emails, please send a request to customer_service@timedright.com.

Customized content:

Information Sharing

Sharing Information With Third Parties:
TimedRight takes the privacy of our users very seriously. We will never sell, rent, or otherwise provide your personally identifiable information to any third parties for marketing purposes. These third parties do not retain, share, or store any personally identifiable information except to provide these services and are bound by strict confidentiality agreements which limit their use of such information.

TimedRight offers a “public profile” feature which allows users to publish portions of their TimedRight profile, including your “name”, but not your “email address” to the public Internet. Users may opt-out of this feature, however TimedRight does not warrant how third-party search engines will update their cache.

We may provide aggregated data about the usage of our services to third-parties for such purposes as we deem, in our sole discretion, to be appropriate. We may segment our users by role (i.e. product managers, vice presidents), industry, geographic location, company.

Partnering with Other Organizations to Offer Combined Services:
TimedRight partners with other online services to give you the combined results of both services. Whenever we offer such combined services it will be your choice to make use of the combined services or not. In these cases, your personally identifiable information will only be passed from TimedRight to the partner if you choose to use the combined service.

Communications:
Some emails you initiate through TimedRight may list your email address and name in the header of the message. Emails you initiate may also provide aggregate information about your network (for instance how many people are in your network), but will never list the people to whom you’re directly connected. Other communications that you initiate through the TimedRight website, like a request for contact, will list your name as the initiator but will not include your personal contact information. You have control of who can see your information, and contact information will only be shared with another user if both of you have indicated that you would like to establish that level of Trusted Relationship with the user.

Legal Disclaimer:
It is possible that we may need to disclose personal information when required by law. We will disclose such information wherein we have a good-faith belief that it is necessary to comply with a court order, ongoing judicial proceeding, or other legal process served on our company or to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.

Accessing and Changing Your Account Information

You can review the personal information you provided us and make any desired changes to the information, or to the settings for your TimedRight account, at any time by logging in to your account on the TimedRight website and editing the information on your Profile page. You can also close your account by sending an email tocustomer_service@timedright.com and requesting that we close your account. If your TimedRight account is closed, we will remove your name and other personally identifiable information from our publicly viewable data. We may retain certain data contributed by you if it may be necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, or for legitimate business purposes, such as analysis of aggregated, non-personally-identifiable data, account recovery, or if required by law. All retained data will continue to be subject to the terms of the TimedRight Privacy Policy that you have previously agree to. To request that we close your account and remove your information from the TimedRight service, please send your request to customer_service@timedright.com .
